Job purpose
We are seeking a detail-oriented and results-driven Senior Accounts Payable Specialist to lead our AP operations with a focus on accuracy, compliance, and innovation. You’ll have a key role in streamlining processes and identifying improvements in a dynamic, growth-focused, and flexible work setting.
Duties and responsibilities
- Lead the full-cycle accounts payable function, ensuring timely, accurate processing of invoices, payments, and expense reports
- Manage accounting for multiple entities, including intercompany reconciliations
- Champion process improvements and initiatives that support flexibility and scalability
- Maintain robust internal controls and ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies
- Review and approve weekly payments, address discrepancies with departments and vendors
- Collaborate cross-functionally with import and warehouse teams to resolve issues
- Oversee AP-related month-end and year-end close activities
- Prepare documentation for audits and reporting
- Build strong vendor relationships and ensure proactive issue resolution
- Supports maintaining a safe working environment and focuses on safe work habits.

Skills
- Proven leadership and mentoring skills with a team-first approach
- Deep knowledge of accounting principles and AP processes
- Industry experience in manufacturing, wholesale, or consumer goods
- Working knowledge of 1099 reporting and sales/use tax
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

Qualifications
- A 4-year bachelor’s degree in accounting, Business or related field and/or equivalent experience
- 4 years of accounting experience
- Ability to work collaboratively across department functions
- A good sense of overall operations of a warehouse distribution and office work environment

- Lifting, raising or lowering an object from one level to another (includes upward pulling)
